Gil Goffer

I'm currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, San Diego, where I’m fortunate to be mentored by Tianyi Zheng. Starting in October 2026, I will join the Faculty of Mathematics at the Technion as an Assistant Professor.

During my postdoc,  I received several fellowships, including Fulbright Fellowship, UC President's Postdoctoral Fellowship, Schmidt Futures Women's Postdoctoral Prize, and Weizmann Institute's Women Career Development Award in Science. I earned my Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute of Science in 2022, under the supervision of Tsachik Gelander.

My research focuses on finitely generated groups and locally compact groups, particularly their actions on various associated spaces. I’m especially interested in using geometric and probabilistic tools to address problems in algebra.
